Cancer occurs when the cells begin to divide uncontrollably in the body. The main aspects of cancer we discussed were telomeres and telomerase. Telomerase is an enzyme that makes up for the lack or loss of telomeres. This enzyme is found in 90% of cancer cells.
We will begin doing a research paper focusing on a specific type of cancer and a certain aspect of the cancer such as chemotherapy, radiation, etc.
As of right now, I believe I will be doing my paper on ovarian cancer and immunotherapy treatments.
