Plant & Animal Cells in the Lab

We started the class off by learning proper lab techniques from Mr. Quick. He was showing the various parts of the microscopes and how to use them. We learned about the light source, the slide clips, the adjusters for the slide, the different lenses and strengths for the microscope, and how to interpret what we saw in the microscope. We also learned how to prepare and make slides to be examined under the microscope.

We began using the microscopes with a flea slide Mr. Quick provided for us. Below is the digital microscope I was using and one the right is the traditional microscope view.

After the pre-made flea side, we received another plant cell sample to look at under the microscope.
This is the view of the slide under the digital microscope.

Lastly, we took a swab of Hira's cheeks to look at under the microscope as an "animal cell".
