There was a quiz today on basic biochemistry, isomers, and the various functional groups of molecules. Here are several pictures explaining some of the differences of isomers in molecules. Another example is the variation of a molecule based on a cis vs. trans structure. Even though the molecular ratios are the same, the simple formation of the molecule can give it completely properties. The other picture shows some of the most common/basic functional groups in organic chemistry.
